Big Machine Label Group has promoted Matthew Hargis to SVP, Promotion for BMLG Records.
Hargis, who joined the company in 2011, was named VP Promotion when BMLG rebranded Republic Nashville as BMLG Records last year.
In his new role he will continue spearheading radio promotion efforts for BMLG Records’ wide-ranging single releases.
During his tenure, Hargis has been a driving force behind 21 chart-topping tracks.
Those include FGL’s breakthrough debut ‘Cruise,’ which is the only country song to be certified Diamond by the RIAA.
Current singles he’s working at radio are ‘God, Your Mama, And Me’ (Florida Georgia Line feat. Backstreet Boys), ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ (Brett Young), ‘Makin’ Me Look Again’ (Drake White) and ‘Preachin’ to the Choir’ (A Thousand Horses).
Prior to BMLG, Hargis spent time at All Access and Capitol Records Nashville.
BMLG Records President and BMLG EVP Jimmy Harnen said: “Matthew has done outstanding work during his entire tenure at BMLG Records.
“Matthew’s leadership, dedication and forward thinking is second to none and this well deserved promotion is reflective of six amazing years!”

Hargis’ promotion is hot on the heels of former Dot Records exec Kris Lamb being named VP of Promotion for the wider BMLG.
Big Machine’s SVP of Promotion Jack Purcell is understood to have recently left Scott Borchetta’s label after more than a decade.
