UK underground artist Steven Wilson has signed a worldwide record deal with Caroline International.
His fifth solo album – the follow up to 2015’s Hand. Cannot. Erase. – will be released later this year.
Michael Roe, Joint Managing Director of Caroline International said: “I’ve been a fan of Steven’s recorded and production work for many years.
“steven is an incredible talent with a big and dedicated fanbase but someone who has not received the wider recognition I think he deserves. I’m thrilled he’s chosen Caroline as a home.”

Wilson added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be entering into partnership with Michael Roe and his team at Caroline for my next album.
“Caroline’s flexible label services model allows me to remain creatively independent, while at the same time providing the ‘muscle’ that being with a major organisation brings.”

“Although Caroline exist within the Universal Music Group, their flexible label services model allows me to remain creatively independent, while at the same time providing the ‘muscle’ that being with a major organisation brings.
“This makes it a perfect home for me, and I’m happy to now be label mates with some of the most respected musicians in the industry.”
A self-taught producer/engineer and multi-instrumentalist, Wilson was formerly founder and frontman of the progressive psychedelic rock’n’roll group Porcupine Tree.
He released his first solo album in 2009, titled Insurgentes.
Wilson has been nominated for several Grammy awards as both a recording artist and a mix engineer.
Over the last few years, he has remixed works by Tears for Fears, Roxy Music and Simple Minds among many others.
Other names on Caroline’s roster includes Peter Gabriel, Thurston Moore, Iggy Pop, Glass Animals and Underworld.
