Daniel Ek’s Brilliant Minds conference will return to Sweden on June 8—9 as part of Symposium Stockholm.
The event claims to gather the world’s “edgiest creators and purposeful leaders”.
It was launched in 2015 by Ek and Ash Pournouri, then-manager of Avicii and CEO and founder of At Night Management (pictured).
Although select individuals ‘who are leaders in their fields’ received an invitation that year, those with less ‘brilliant minds’ could buy a ticket to the inaugural event for $2,900.
There’s no news on how much tickets will cost this year.
Companies including Uber, Harper’s Bazaar, YouTube, Sony Music, AOL, Alphabet, Harvard University, Basel Art Fair phenomena, Maker’s Studio and Charity: Water were amongst 2016 attendees.
This year’s theme is ‘Numanity’. Yep.
‘At Brilliant Minds 2017 we co-write the narrative of “Numanity”, the story and values that will drive the future of how humans will relate to technology and how technology will change the definition of humanity.’
A blurb explains: The marriage between humanity and technology is the great test of modern times. Soon everything will be connected to the Internet.
Politics, personal identity and tech will need to speak a more unified language and build a common story of the next wave of human evolution.
At Brilliant Minds 2017 we co-write the narrative of “Numanity”, the story and values that will drive the future of how humans will relate to technology and how technology will change the definition of humanity.
Symposium Stockholm is held from June 7—15. It’s a week-long festival for creatives working in music, tech and fashion.
Alongside the conference, programming includes Stockholm Fashion Tech Talk and ‘interactive’ morning The Pool.
The Denniz Pop Awards will recognize both the unsung heroes and those who have made an outstanding contribution to promote Swedish music internationally.
Elsewhere, the long-running Polar Music Prize will honour individuals, groups and institutions in recognition of exceptional achievements in music.
A two day music festival run by Stureplansgruppen titled Summerburst will be held in Gothenburg and Stockholm, with artists including Axwell ^ Ingrosso, Justin Bieber, Tiësto and Eric Prydz on the bill.
