Jenny Gorotiza promoted to Vice President, Marketing at Island Records

Island Records has promoted Jenny Gorotiza to Vice President, Marketing at the Universal Music Group-owned label.

The news was announced on Tuesday (April 30) by Jay Schumer, Executive Vice President, Head of Marketing and Business Development.

Gorotiza, based in New York, will continue to spearhead creative marketing campaigns for a range of artists, including Shawn Mendes, keshi, Jessie Reyez, Lauren Spencer Smith, SleazyWorld Go, and others.

Gorotiza has served as Senior Director, Marketing, at Island since 2021. Before joining the company, she worked at 12Tone Music Group where she contributed to the development of artists like multi-Grammy winner Anderson .Paak. She started her career in music at Island Def Jam, and later worked for Republic Records and Roc Nation.

Commenting on her promotion, Gorotiza said, “I’ve always felt deeply passionate about developing the artists I work with and helping bring their vision to life. It’s rare to get to do what you love on a daily basis, and I don’t take it for granted.”

Gorotiza’s promotion follows that of Erika Clark, who was promoted to Vice President, Media Relations, in March 2023. Also last year, Island Records appointed Shahendra Ohneswere, formerly of Columbia, as its Head of Creative Strategy.

Currently headquartered in London, Island Records was founded in Jamaica by Chris Blackwell, Graeme Goodall, and Leslie Kong in 1959. The company has signed legendary artists like Bob Marley and Bon Jovi, as well as pop acts like Chvrches, Demi Lovato, Nia Archives, Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Sigrid, and bands like The Killers.
