Leland Music, one of the UK’s most respected music supervision houses, has launched a sister company, Leland Originals, to represent a selection of composers.
Leland Originals already counts talent on its books such as Tom Hodge, who – in addition to making music for BAFTA-nominated animations, movies and TV themes – has soundtracked commercials for the likes of Audi, Cadbury’s, Coca-Cola, Ikea, Nike and T-mobile.
Other clients include Donna McKevitt, who has worked with the likes of Nick Cave, Tricky and Moby – as well as creating scores for fashion house films from Vogue and Jaeger – plus Michael Russoff, who has provided the soundtrack for recent commercials from Lurpak, The Guardian, Fuze, and the celebrated Honda Grrr.
“Leland Originals allows us to develop and nurture composers working across all areas of media, and… succinctly convey the sound and body of work of each individual composer to our clients.”

“Having worked as a music supervisor for almost two decades, we have gathered great insight into and understanding of the collaborative process of creating music for our media clients,” Leland Music founder Abi Leland told MBW.
“A large part of the role – and an aspect I have always loved – involves matching the right composer to the project, and to do so I have always sourced talent from a broad and often unexpected landscape, ranging from the undiscovered to the very established.”
She added: “Leland Originals takes this experience one step further by allowing us to develop and nurture composers working across all areas of media, and knowing how best to succinctly convey the sound and body of work of each individual composer to our clients.
“Our focus is to foster long term relationships with composers and clients, signing talent with a unique and distinct sound and bringing a more hands on approach to representation.”
Since being founded in 2005, the award-winning Leland Music has helped to create ad campaigns and music partnerships for companies including Nike, McDonald’s, Bulmers, Hovis, Lloyds TSB and Honda.
It’s a regular creative partner of UK retail firm John Lewis, and has helped make numerous incarnations of the brand’s much-discussed Christmas TV ads – including the latest, ‘Buster The Boxer’.Music Business Worldwide
