Former BBC Radio 1 playlist boss Nigel Harding and current Radio 1 DJ Danny Howard have signed a partnership with Sony Music UK for their dance music project Nothing Else Matters.
Nothing Else Matters Records will now officially launch with RCA, seeking out ‘the best new dance music talent’.
The new venture was agreed with Sony Music UK Chairman and CEO Jason Iley and RCA President Colin Barlow.
The first release on the label, in partnership with Resilience Records, will be 99 Souls, ‘The Girl is Mine Featuring Destiny’s Child and Brandy’.
The track, licensed by Sony Music UK CEO/Chairman Jason Iley and RCA A&R Pino Pumilia, will be released on November 6.
MBW broke the news that Harding was leaving Radio 1 in May, after nine years at the broadcaster.
The exec was one of the architects of Radio 1’s playlist policy, playing a pivotal role in breaking some of the UK’s biggest artists of recent years including Years and Years, Clean Bandit, Biffy Clyro and Florence and the Machine.
