Ticketing and concert discovery platform Songkick has announced a product integration with Shazam.
The partnership will see Songkick’s list of hundreds of thousands of upcoming events featured within the Shazam app.
The new offering, which will be rolled out in 2017, will integrate Songkick’s concert data and information directly into the Shazam app, making hundreds of thousands of upcoming artists’ tour dates available to users as they loos to tag songs.
Songkick will have access to Shazam’s global user-base, born from an app that has been downloaded more than one billion times.
Since merging with CrowdSurge in 2015, Songkick – backed by Len Blavatnik‘s Access Entertainment – has made it its mission to reduce the number of tickets sold to scalpers, working with artists including Adele to ensure as many primary tickets land in the hands of fans as possible.
“The moment of discovery is such an important time to educate the fan about a show,” said Matt Jones, CEO of Songkick.
