Universal Music Publishing has signed an exclusive publishing administration agreement with SACM (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México), the Mexican performing rights organisation, to administer its rights in the US and Puerto Rico.
UMP Mexico will provide administration, licensing and creative services for all domestic and international songs owned and/or administered by SACM Publishing in Mexico.
“We couldn’t be more delighted that SACM entrusted their legacy to UMPG,” said Yadira Moreno, Managing Director of UMPG México & Central America.
“SACM has a unique catalog that conveys the cultural essence of contemporary Mexican music. It will be our privilege to maximize opportunities for the composers we now represent, and to continue promoting their songs in the territory.”
“As a composer myself, I have firsthand experience of the effectiveness and efficiency in which UMPG operates,” said Mr. Armando Manzanero, President of SACM.
“We are confident that our catalogue is in the best hands in the business.”

“SACM feels this is the right step forward that will benefit all of our composers and partners.”
SACM is a performing rights society founded in 1945. As a member of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers), SACM has 212 reciprocal agreements with international societies in 5 continents.
