Former Sony UK & Ireland boss Nick Gatfield appears to be readying a music industry comeback.
MBW has discovered that the popular British exec registered an intriguing online domain – TwinMusicInc.com – in mid-February this year.
Gatfield was unavailable for comment when contacted, leaving the rumour mill whirring.
Indie label? Publisher? ‘360’ music company?
The smart money’s certainly on Twin Music involving some kind of A&R function: during his career, Gatfield signed and/or developed acts including Radiohead, Keane, the Sugababes and the late Amy Winehouse.
He exited Sony UK last year after three years in charge at the major.
Before joining Sony, Gatfield worked as EMI Music’s President of new music for North America, and as President of Universal‘s Island Records.
