100 new artists for this year’s Liverpool Sound City have been revealed, as well as headline breakdowns and the Merseyside venues that the showcase festival will be visiting in 2018.
The event will kick off the UK’s festival season on Saturday 5th and 6th May, preceded by the Sound City + business conference on Friday, 4th May.
Saturday’s headliners include DMA’s (pictured), Slow Readers Club, Picture This, Idles, Wye Oak and Black Honey.
Headline duties on Sunday will be handed to Peace, Sunset Sons, Yellow Days, Baxter Dury, Jaws and Dermot Kennedy.
A strong urban and grime contingent at this year’s Sound City will include AIM‘s 2017 Hardest Working Artist award winner Shaodow, along with Vital, Beyond Average and Juke.
Venues for the 2018 event have also been announced, with stages spread across Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle – a warren of intimate bars and clubs that has evolved into one of the UK’s go-to cultural destinations.
Sound City events will be hosted in the Great Baltic Warehouse, Constellations, Camp and Furnace, Baltic Market, Hangar 34, District, Unit 51, Baltic Social, Red Door Vintage, The Tank Room, 24 Kitchen Street, Northern Lights, Hinterland, Craft Minded, Black Lodge Brewery and Tap And Still.
