Apple Music is teaming up with Genius to co-produce new episodes of Verified – Genius’s hit video series, which features artists explaining the lyrics and meaning behind their biggest songs.
The new episodes will premiere exclusively on Apple Music.
The partnership comes just over a year after the New York-based lyrics platform made Apple Music its official music player.
Since 2016, Genius has produced more than 800 episodes of Verified , with hundreds of artists, from Billie Eilish to J Balvin to Ice Cube, Chance the Rapper to Sting and Cardi B.
The new partnership starts today (February 4) with the two latest episodes of Verified: Alec Benjamin breaking down his song Mind Is A Prison and Yung Baby Tate dissecting her track CAMP.
Upcoming episodes will feature Caroline Polachek, 24kGoldn, Olivia Rodrigo, and others.
New Verified episodes premiere every weekday, Monday through Friday, on Genius.com, Genius’s YouTube channel, and on Apple Music.
“We see a bright yellow future where every hit song on Apple Music has a companion Verified episode featuring the lyrics and meaning, straight from the artists themselves. This is the first step towards that reality.”
Ben Gross, Genius
Ben Gross, Genius’s Chief Strategy Officer at Genius, said: “Apple Music is already the official music player on Genius.com. Now, it’s also the official music streaming partner for Verified , and we couldn’t be more excited,” said
