The third album from pop superstar Adele has officially been pegged for release on Friday, November 20.
According to US business title Hits Daily Double, the record-breaking performer’s Stateside label, Sony‘s Columbia, has now etched the date in stone.
A lead single will reportedly appear in the first or second week of the same month.
Adele’s second album, 21, has sold more than 30m copies worldwide, with more than 14m in the US alone.
The artist is signed to Beggars/XL for the world, but her catalogue is licensed to Columbia for the American market.
The third album from Adele will apparently be the last covering her current deal with Beggars/XL.
There is as yet no news on whether the album will be made exclusively available for a period through any retailer or digital service.
Hits sources suggest that after the new album run is through, Adele will sign direct to Sony in a $50m-plus deal for future recordings.
It is expected that songwriting collaborators on the new record will include Max Martin, Tobias Jesso Jr, Danger Mouse and Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote Rumour Has It on 21.
Hits reports that Adele has agreed to appear on four TV shows in the US for the new album campaign, including The Today Show and Saturday Night Live.
Adele’s only new recorded release since 21 was issued in 2011 was James Bond theme Skyfall.
Released in October 2012, it won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2013.Music Business Worldwide
