FFRR Records, the dance label at UK-based Parlophone Records, has appointed music executive Andy Daniell to lead the label.
Daniell reports into Elias Christidis, Head of A&R, Parlophone Records.
Daniell joins from Defected Records, where he’s built a reputation as one of the best A&Rs and most respected executives in the dance community.
He signed CamalPhat and Elderbrook’s song Cola, which went on to have more than 400 million streams and earn a Grammy nomination.
He is also responsible for signing and developing: the No. single, Look Right Through by Storm Queen; Freak Like Me by Lee Walker vs DJ Deeon and Always by MK.
He joined Defected Records in 2004, becoming their resident DJ at Ibiza’s El Divino, then global DJ for the brand, before establishing himself as a successful A&R leader.
FFRR was created in 1986. That year saw the label release several genre-defining hits, which remain all-time classics today, including Lil’ Louis’s French Kiss, Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie’s Tears, and Richie Rich’s Salsa House.
Recent FFRR successes include Krystal Klear’s Neutron Dance, Paul Woolford’s Hang Up Your Hang Ups; Disciples’ platinum-certified On My Mind, Matoma & Becky Hill;s Platinum-selling False Alarm, Blonde’s three Top 10 smashes, I Loved You, All Cried Out and Nothing Like This; and Oliver Helden’s No.1 hit, Gecko (Overdrive).
