Primary Wave Music Publishing has hired Angelica Camacho as Vice President, Creative A&R.
Camacho joined Primary Wave Music Publishing this past summer and in just a few short months has signed Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, Jeremih, as well as sought-after producer and songwriter Anthony Jones to worldwide co-publishing deals.
Camacho joins Primary Wave from TaP Music where she held the role of manager and US A&R at the London-based company.
While there, she worked directly with artists including Hailee Steinfeld and Col3trane.
Prior to joining TaP Music, she was A&R for Unrestricted/SONGS Music Publishing and worked on projects for artists such as Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Noah Cyrus, and Chromeo.
The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, Jeremih, joins the Primary Wave roster on the heels of his latest release, On Chill, with Wale.
He the featured vocalist and also co-wrote the song, which reached No.1 on the Rhythmic and Urban charts.
Signed to Def Jam Records, Jeremih’s debut single, Birthday Sex, went Top 5 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, ultimately leading to a Top 10 debut for his self-titled release on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
His next two albums produced multiple Top 10 charting singles.
All songs from his latest effort, 2018’s critically acclaimed collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, MihTy, are included in the co-publishing deal with Primary Wave. Jeremih is currently in the studio working on a new album project.
Also joining Primary Wave is sought-after producer and songwriter, Anthony “Tone” Jones.
He’s produced and written for the likes of Keith Sweat, Mary J. Blige, Case, Fifth Harmony and more.
Most recently Jones worked with Ariana Grande, co-producing her smash hit featuring Social House, Boyfriend, which peaked at No.8 on Top 40 Radio Charts and on Billboard’s Hot 100. The song also just earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
