Bauer Media Audio UK, part of European media company Bauer Media Group, has appointed Robert D’Ovidio as its new Director (Music) Broadcast, On-Demand and Premium, effective immediately.
In this new role, D’Ovidio will be responsible for overseeing all music content across the company’s diverse portfolio of radio brands, including Absolute Radio, KISS, Magic Radio, Hits Radio, and Greatest Hits Radio.
D’Ovidio brings a wealth of experience to the position, having joined Bauer Media in 2020 as part of the acquisition of Celador Radio. During his tenure, he has played a key role in launching Bauer’s Premium offering in the UK and most recently spearheaded the content strategy for Rayo, the company’s new audio content product.
Reporting to Chief Content and Music Officer Ben Cooper, D’Ovidio’s primary focus will be on unifying the music teams across Bauer’s various brands to create a cohesive listening experience for audiences, both on-air and on-demand. This includes fostering cross-brand collaborations and developing strategic partnerships with artists and labels.

D’Ovidio’s appointment came over a year after Bauer Media Audio UK appointed Pete Black as Director of Music.
Bauer Media UK says it reaches 25 million consumers “using insight and instinct,” while its parent company says it reaches over 57 million listeners weekly through its brands and services.
The European commercial radio broadcaster in 2021 launched a subscription radio service in the UK. At the time, the company said the £3.99/month radio service reaches over 20 million listeners a week across 120 commercial, local, national and digital stations.
