Independent UK-based national radio promotions company Blueprint Radio is investing in the podcasting boom with the launch of a new specialist podcast division, Blueprint Pods.
Blueprint Pods is the UK’s first podcast led-plugging service for artists, and is already up and running with the likes of Tom Odell and Freya Ridings in addition to placing talent such as Professor Green and Kioko on the podcast The Receipts.
Blueprint Pods works closely with hosts, brands, producers and curators, as well as hosting platforms such as Audioboom and A-Cast to ensure their clients have the widest range of podcasts and opportunities available to them.
The two directors of Blueprint Pods are Chris Slade and Sophie Paluch.
Slade is the founder of Blueprint Radio and a hugely experienced radio promotions executive. Before setting up Blueprint Radio he was a director at Alchemy Radio and is a former National Radio Promotions Executive at EMI Records.
Paluch has wide ranging industry experience (encompassing management, publishing and radio plugging) as well as specialising in podcast hosting, writing and commissioning.
“We wanted to be the first company that fully services this fast developing market in the way in which it deserves.”
Chris Slade
“Podcasts present a huge opportunity for artists and rights holders,” said Slade.

“Placing artists within the huge world of American podcasts is an excellent opportunity to introduce talent into the US market.”
Sophie Paluch
Paluch added: “5.2 million people listen to podcasts in the UK every month and 45% of them are under 35.
“They are also some of the most engaged audiences with over 25% sharing and reposting content – and we think these are numbers that no one can ignore.
“We believe that music audiences are now hungrier than ever to know more about the artist behind the music and podcasts are the ideal way to do this as well as a chance for artists to reach new audiences.
“Internationally we know podcasts can reach audiences of millions and it helps they are not subject to location restrictions like a lot of other online content. Placing artists within the huge world of American podcasts is an excellent opportunity to introduce talent into the US market.”
“This is a fantastic opportunity to easily connect the best UK talent with some of the biggest partners on the Audioboom platform.”
Mike Newman, Audioboom
Mike Newman, Head of UK Content Partnerships at Audioboom, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to easily connect the best UK talent with some of the biggest partners on the Audioboom platform – a great idea that will no doubt further support and strengthen the continued growth of the UK podcast industry.”
“Chris and Sophie have always delivered for us on radio and I’m sure Blueprint Pods will continue the story in this ever-growing area of the market.”

Ben Coates, General Manager at Relentless Records, added: “We’ve been working with Blueprint Radio for some time now, most notably on the highly successful Tom Walker campaign.
