BMG has promoted Marian Wolf (pictured) to Vice President, Global Writer Services & China.
Based in Los Angeles, Wolf will now lead the day-to-day operations of BMG’s Global Writer Services for the international publishing roster.
He continues to report directly to Thomas Scherer, EVP, Marketing & Repertoire, Los Angeles.
Wolf joined BMG in 2011 in Berlin before relocating to Los Angeles in 2014.
During his tenure at BMG, he has played a key role in developing the Global Writer Services business, driving songwriter service in the US, EU and Asia. He has played an instrumental part in integrating BMG’s creative teams worldwide in the US, UK, Australia, Brazil, GSA, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy, and Spain.
His song placements and writer collaborations include many No.1 records across the world for BMG songwriters, with many successes for songwriters outside their home markets in the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Australia, Japan, Korea, and China.
In addition, he has helped develop analytical publishing management tools that incorporate collaboration between teams in Investments, Income Tracking, Business & Legal Affairs, Finance, and Administration.
Wolf has also been instrumental in building BMG China’s creative business, with recent releases including Kris Wu’s latest China chart-topping album Antares, alongside Number Ones from Will Pan, Chris Lee, TF Boys, and many more.
Additionally, together with BMG China’s Leon Lin, head of A&R and Marketing, and Alice Li, Manager A&R, he has developed the likes of BMG’s global songwriter series SoundLab and Star Academy, as well as strategic partnership projects with Xiami / Youku and Momo, in China.
