Canadian YouTube aggregator BroadbandTV (BBTV) has signed a partnership with BMG for a ‘technologically-advanced alliance designed to accelerate the careers of emerging music artists’.
This joint venture, branded Windfall, pledges to ‘provide an end-to-end solution to find, develop, and service artists across all platforms’.
Artists will benefit from BMG’s expertise, spanning music publishing, rights management, promotion and distribution along with BBTV’s full suite of online video services and solutions including production, premium channel and fan uploaded content management, technology, distribution, and monetization.
BBTV reaches billions of monthly views. Its music network has grown by 62% in the last quarter.
BBTV operates two of the largest music networks on YouTube: hip-hop network Opposition with artists such as Logic, Father and Yung Simmie; and WIMSIC, the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) network backed by artists such as Major Lazer, Dillon Francis and Will Sparks.
