One of BMG‘s flagship new recording artists, Jack Savoretti, has scored a Gold record in the UK with his latest album Written In Scars 49 weeks after it was released.
The LP scored its highest chart position yet in the Official UK Album Chart on Friday at No.7 with its highest week one sale, following solid support from BBC Radio 2.
It’s now sold in excess of 100,000 copies in the UK, according to the BPI.
BMG EVP of New Recordings, Korda Marshall, said, “This is a substantial and unprecedented achievement and a reassuring confirmation that great talent will eventually succeed.

Jack Savoretti released his first single in 2006 and subsequently released three albums with two different labels.
Written In Scars, his first album for BMG, has now sold nearly twice as many copies as his first three albums put together.
His latest single ‘Catapult’ has been playlisted by BBC Radio 2 for five weeks and has just been added to the Magic network playlist.
