Carolyn Williams has been appointed to the newly created role of Executive Vice President at RCA Records.
Williams will work with RCA’s executive team to oversee the company’s artist and label brand management and marketing operations.
She will also co-lead the newly created creative and content development team, and will continue to lead RCA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.
Williams most recently served as RCA’s Executive Vice President, Marketing, a position she has held since 2018.
Williams served as the marketing lead for Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R., SZA, Alicia Keys, D’Angelo, BROCKHAMPTON and Childish Gambino, who have all garnered multiple No.1 records, chart breaking records and award nominations and wins.
Williams is an active member on the Executive Committee for the She Is The Music organization, a global database for women working in music founded in 2018, and is Co-Chair of its NY Chapter.
She also co-founded The Spark, an RCA Records thought leadership program.
In 2020, she helped develop Sony Music’s YOUR VOICE, YOUR POWER, YOUR VOTE initiative and the first part of the Know Your Worth campaign, says RCA.
Williams is also the Executive Sponsor for RCA’s Black Music Action Committee, an internal group of employees of color whose mission is to further company actions and initiatives promoting diversity, equality, inclusion, mobility policies and social justice.Music Business Worldwide
