Warner Music Group has announced the election of of Ceci Kurzman to the company’s Board of Directors, effective today (October 1).
Well known in music circles, Kurzman is founder and President of Nexus Management Group, a former talent management and current investment company.
In the past, former Sony Music exec Kurzman managed business development and career strategy for artists including Shakira and Alicia Keys.
Warner also announced today that Max Lousada, WMG’s Chief Executive Officer of Recorded Music, is stepping down from its Board.
Warner said this move was consistent with public company best practices, and that its Directors have determined that the only Warner employee on the Board going forward should be WMG’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Cooper.
In addition, Warner’s Directors have decided that the WMG Board should remain at 11 members.
With Kurzman succeeding Lousada, WMG’s Board is now comprised of:

Kurzman is the first board appointment since WMG’s flotation on the NASDAQ in June.

Prior to founding Nexus, Kurzman spent eight years at Sony Music, where she was VP of Global Marketing for Epic Records.
The exec began her career in the record business at Sony‘s Arista Records, working for Clive Davis as Director of Artist Development and Special Projects.
Kurzman currently serves on the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Compensation Committee of Revlon, Inc., as well as on the Board of Directors of various organizations including Man Group plc, and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
Max Lousada ends almost exactly two years of serving on Warner’s Board, having been elected as a Director in October 2017.Music Business Worldwide
