Pollen is increasingly becoming a company to keep an eye on for those in the music industry.
Founded in 2014 by brothers Callum & Liam Negus-Fancey, the London-headquartered firm has raised over $100 million in VC funding to date, from backers including Kindred, Northzone, Sienna Capital, Backed and Draper Spirit.
Previously called Verve, Pollen runs two offerings: Pollen Presents, which curates experiences for customers across travel, music, and more; and Pollen+, which partners with promoters and music festivals to offer customers who book through its platforms perks at events.
Pollen has today made an impressive hire in the UK, naming Christine Osazuwa as its Strategy Director for Pollen Presents.
Osazuwa, based in London, will work to develop the strategy for Pollen Presents’ highly curated global live music and travel experiences.
Upcoming events that Pollen Presents is working with include performances from superstar artists such as Justin Bieber, J Balvin and Ozuna.
Osazuwa brings over 10 years of international marketing, data and music industry experience to the role with time spent working in the US, the UK and Sweden at Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and working with various music & tech startups.
Most recently, Osazuwa was Global Marketing Director of Data & Insights at Warner Music in London. There, she provided data-driven insights for WMG’s priority artists such as Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy and Dua Lipa.
In addition to her work at WMG, she also created the music & data hackathon and conference, Measure of Music, which will take place again next year.
Christine Osazuwa, said of her new role at Pollen: “Live music is how I got my start in the industry and I’m incredibly excited to be back in that space.
“Especially after the past 18 months, so many people are eager to have unique music & travel experiences. I’m thrilled to join a diverse and dynamic team that is passionate about creating innovative and novel ways to bring people together.”
In January, Pollen hired artist manager and former Ministry Of Sound exec, Zeon Richards, as its Head of Hip-Hop Content for Europe.Music Business Worldwide
