Coldplay and Warner Music ink long-term deal, via Parlophone and Atlantic

Coldplay and Warner Music Group (WMG) have signed a new long-term deal, via Parlophone in the UK and Atlantic in the US.

The deal comes on the heels of Warner’s recent career-spanning deals with the David Bowie Estate in September, Madonna in August, and with David Guetta in June.

The deal sees Coldplay extend their existing partnership with WMG, having gone through Atlantic in the US since 2014’s Ghost Stories.

They are signed to Parlophone in the UK, a relationship that goes back over 20 years.

All eight of the band’s previous albums have gone to No. 1 in the UK and Top 10 in the US (apart from their debut, Parachutes, in 2000, which was a UK No.1.)

The announcement of the deal comes ahead of the release of the band’s forthcoming ninth album, Music Of The Spheres, on October 15.

In May, the band released Higher Power, the lead single from the Max Martin-produced album, which has been streamed more than 160 million times.

My Universe, the band’s collaboration with BTS, is also a huge hit. It went straight in at No.1 in the US and is currently No.6 on the Global Spotify and No.5 on the Apple Global charts.

Coldplay have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and won seven Grammy Awards.

Warner and Atlantic currently have the No.1 on the US singles and albums chart (Coldplay and YoungBoy Never Broke Again).
