Elvis Adidiema has been appointed Director of Sony Music French Speaking Africa.
Adidiema took up the role effective role November 2 and will be based between Paris and Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
His appointment was announced by Sony Music Entertainment France Managing Director Marie-Anne Robert in an internal email, obtained by MBW.
In 2016, Adidiema was appointed Chief Editor of France-based music channel Trace TV, which is dedicated to playing and showcasing music from Africa.
Two years later, in 2018, Adidiema went on to become Trace TV’s Head of A&R.
Robert notes that in this role, Adidiema played a key role in the development of artists such as Joe Dwet File and Fally Ipupa among others.
His other ventures included the label, OUENZE MUSIC, which he created together with Serge Ibaka, scoring a platinum single with the artist Ninho.
Previously, he also managed artists including Innoss B, Ya Levis and Heritier Wata.
Marie-Anne Robert was appointed Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment France in September with the remit to oversee all operations, signings and acquisitions.
