Independent music company Exceleration Music has inked a strategic partnership with Los Angeles-based indie label SideOneDummy Records.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1995 by Joe Sib and Bill Armstrong, SideOneDummy Records has been home to artists such as Flogging Molly, The Gaslight Anthem, and Gogol Bordello, as well as more recent signings Nahko and Medicine for the People, PUP, Jeff Rosenstock, Tolliver, Rozwell Kid and PÆRISH.
The label also created and released the annual Warped Tour Compilation series.
Under the deal, Exceleration says that it is “investing in SideOneDummy’s back catalog” and will partner with SideOneDummy to enhance and expand the label’s output via a “new release programme”.
SideOneDummy will continue to handle A&R for new recordings by the existing roster.
The label will also continue to sign and develop new artists, while Exceleration will handle financial, operational, and administrative functions for the label.
Exceleration Music recently acquired the Chicago-based label Bloodshot Records, and acquired the rights to the catalog of the late Justin Townes Earle.
