BMG has moved its UK operation into new offices in London’s Paddington in order to accommodate its growth in staff.
Yesterday (May 26) the company moved all of its UK employees in the Merchant Square development in Paddington Basin.
The move follows its acquisition in 2014 of the Infectious and Union Square record labels as well as continuing organic growth.
‘New’ BMG was founded under Bertelsmann ownership six-and-a-half years ago.
It is now the world’s fourth biggest music publisher, while in Q1 it became the UK’s fifth biggest record company.
“Just over four years ago there were 12 of us in the UK. Now we need to accommodate over 120 people.”

BMG UK EVP Alexi Cory-Smith (pictured) said: “Just over four years ago, there were only 12 of us in the UK. When we moved into our previous office in the West End in April 2012, we had a team of 45.
“Now in our new office a combination of organic growth and acquisition means we need to accommodate over 120 people.
“The new site means we can house publishing and recordings, new repertoire and catalogue, business affairs, sync, admin and finance all on one floor, reflecting the integrated approach BMG takes towards music rights management.”
