[PIAS]’s Artist & Label Services division will partner with Ipecac Recordings to release Faith No More’s first album in 18 years after signing a global deal with the label.
The new Faith No More album – the band’s first since 1997 and the seventh studio LP of their career – will be released through Ipecac on the band’s own imprint, Reclamation Recordings.
[PIAS] has signed to deal to provide marketing, sales & distribution services for Ipecac releases in all markets outside of North America from January 1, 2015.
California based Ipecac Recordings was founded in April 1999 by Greg Werckman – ex-label manager of Alternative Tentacles, ex-lead singer of Duh and ex-employee of Mercury Records – and Faith No More lead singer Mike Patton. Ipecac now works with a mix of artists including Melvins, Isis and Le Butcherettes alongside Patton’s own projects and collaborations.
Greg Werckman, co-founder of Ipecac Recordings, said: “Mike and I and the bands are very honoured to be joining the [PIAS] team. We have had great respect for the [PIAS] system for years. With the addition of Faith No More and Reclamation Recordings, we felt it was the right time to step up and increase the Ipecac visibility worldwide. We have been fortunate to develop such a strong and loyal fan-base over the last 15 years and will continue to offer unique and eclectic releases.”
Mike Patton commented: “2015 looks to be a great year for Ipecac and the beginning of a successful partnership with [PIAS].”
And Adrian Pope, managing director of [PIAS] Artist & Label Services, said: “We are very proud to start a relationship with Ipecac at what will be one of the most exciting years in their history. It’s quite special what Greg and Mike have achieved with the label in their own way and the release of a new Faith No More album will be one of the highlights of next year for both existing and new fans around the world”Music Business Worldwide
