Fintage House and Imagem have teamed up to take on the likes of Kobalt in the global neighbouring rights space by launching new JV FIM.
Fintage House announced earlier this year that its neighbouring rights clients include Ed Sheeran and Iggy Azalea.
They benefit from a neighbouring rights operation at Netherlands-born Fintage, which collects directly from more than 100 societies worldwide.
Current and future Imagem clients for neighbouring rights will now be served via FIM, which will tap into infrastructure of the existing Fintage House neighbouring rights teams.
Niels Teves, Co-CEO of Fintage House said: ‘We are very happy to be working with Imagem for the collection of neighbouring rights for their artists across the board from pop to classical stars.
“The fit between our two companies is all about our personal approach with clients and attention to detail.”
“Despite some suggestions that collecting neighbouring rights is a simple process run purely by technology, it remains in fact a highly complicated and detailed business requiring close personal attention.”

In what appears to be a comment on others operating in the market, Teves added: “Despite some suggestions that collecting neighbouring rights is a simple process that can be run purely by technology, it remains in fact a highly complicated and detailed business requiring close personal attention.
“Understanding each client need and set-up on an individual basis is a key part of this. Imagem has very strong relationships with artists and writers and adopts a similar approach to Fintage House’.
André de Raaff, CEO of Imagem, said: ‘We are delighted to embark on this partnership with Fintage House who have been involved in the collection of neighbouring rights for fifteen years and are a market leader in the sector.
“Under the leadership of Niels Teves, they will help us to optimize the income of this specialized IP right from all sources worldwide and we are delighted that our Heide Avent will be part of FIM for the future’.
Heide Avent, responsible for neighbouring rights at Imagem during the last two years, joins FIM and remains dedicated to the Imagem clients.
