IDOL, the French music company specialising in digital distribution and technology services, says it will launch new offices in ‘several key territories’ in 2015, as it opens its first ever London HQ this week.
IDOL’s expansion is being headed up by senior consultant Daniel Findikian and his new head of international development Sylvain Morton.
Alexis Hooper (pictured) has just been appointed as General Manager of IDOL UK.
Hooper has 15 years experience in the music industry, focusing on digital distribution since 2011.
After a spell at Believe Digital in the UK, Hooper went on to successfully set up and manage the firm’s office in Turkey.
He will run the new IDOL office based on Rivington Street in East London.
“I’m really excited about this new adventure,” said Hooper. “IDOL has developed a fantastic roster over the years, enabling them to acquire extensive marketing expertise at an international level.
“Alongside this, IDOL UK customers will be able to enjoy a range of exclusive powerful features that IDOL developed in-house such as ‘Leaks’ (inbuilt anti-piracy system) ‘Pix’ (automated You Tube Art Tracks) and a UX-focused, clear and efficient back-office system.
“In the year 2015, labels not only want great distribution and marketing services, they need also to manage their content simply, receive data at their fingertips quickly and have protection for their assets all through the same system.
“This in turn maximising time, reducing loss of potential sales and increasing turnover.”
As an aggregator, IDOL works with labels and acts such as Kitsuné, InFiné, Record Makers, Heavenly Sweetness, No Format, Glitterbeat, Sound Pellegrino, CUFF, Sebastien Tellier, Kavinsky and Rone.
As a technology provider, IDOL works with companies such as Because Music, Domino records, Select and Wagram Music.Music Business Worldwide
