People Want To Dance (PWTD), a Hamburg-based dance label that was founded by former Warner Music MD Andreas Weitkämper and Ekki Klages, has partnered with European production company ThreeDee Music to venture into immersive audio mixing using Dolby Atmos technology.
Founded in 2021 by Matthias Stalter, ThreeDee Music provides music production services in 3D. The company has studios and offices in the UK (London) and Germany (Munich).
ThreeDee Music claims to be the world’s first production company capable of delivering substantial volumes of Dolby Atmos productions and mixes “within a compact processing period.”
Meanwhile, People Want To Dance was founded in 2022 by Weitkämper and Klages. The company seeks to become “the new home for electronic music in Europe.”
PWTD says that it uses custom-made software services and algorithms to discover new artists, to track campaigns as well as monitor artist updates. It is distributed worldwide by The Orchard, owned by Sony Music.
“We are very happy about the collaboration with Andreas, Ekki and their team, and we will refine every PWTD smash hit with our expertise in 3D. Get ready for the dance floor, it’s going to be hot and dolbyatmospheric.”

Their collaboration includes, among others, the Pan-European hit “The Magic Key” by Trinix & One-T.
“We are very happy about the collaboration with Andreas, Ekki and their team, and we will refine every PWTD smash hit with our expertise in 3D. Get ready for the dance floor, it’s going to be hot and dolbyatmospheric,” said Matthias Stalter, CEO and founder of ThreeDee Music.
Stalter previously worked as one of two in-house producers at the Abbey Road Studios in London.
“We have designed PWTD as a new label to enable simple and fair access to new technologies for European electronic and dance artists. Therefore it has been logical to provide a frame for first class Dolby Atmos releases with the experts at ThreeDee Music. We are delighted about the superb playlist rankings which ThreeDee Music’s mixes have already achieved for us,” Andreas Weitkämper, CEO and founder of People Want To Dance, added.

The partnership between PWTD and ThreeDee Music came just a month after the latter company signed a deal with Universal Music Germany to produce mixes using Universal Music’s catalog.
The deal also comes as Dolby Atmos becomes a preferred sound format for music companies. The technology enhances the audio experience in various media by introducing a three-dimensional aspect to audio, allowing sound to move freely in a 3D space around the listener.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz formed a multi-faced partnership with Universal Music and Apple Music for its cars to offer Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos from Apple Music natively in a vehicle.
Apple Music started offering Lossless Audio and Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos on its platform at no additional cost in 2021.
