Since 2010, the Guild Of Music Supervisors has brought together the most powerful players across synchronization in the US market – and now the UK’s getting its very own chapter.
The Los Angeles-based GoMS counts some of Hollywood’s principle music supervision execs amongst its members, ranging from those working in movies through to TV, video games and beyond.
The organization’s founding members include Thomas Golubic (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead), PJ Bloom (Glee, American Horror Story), Maureen Crowe (Chicago, The Replacements) and Steve Schnur (Electronic Arts).
In addition to conferences and other get-togethers, the GoMS runs a prestigious annual awards during Grammy Week.
“this is a giant step forward to elevate the area of music supervision to a whole different level.”

Focusing on the US market, the 2017 edition due to take place at The Theatre in Hollywood’s The Ace Hotel on Thursday, February 16.
Could a British-facing equivalent be on the cards for the future?
Although details of the UK branch of the GoMS remain thin on the ground, respected UK sync exec Ruth Simmons called its imminent arrival in London “long overdue”.
Simmons, CEO of SoundLounge, has revealed that she will be on the advisory board of the UK’s Guild.
“I can’t say much else at the moment but this is a giant step forward to elevate the area of music supervision to a whole different level,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
Finalists at the GoMS Awards in LA next month include John Houlihan (Deadpool), Steven Gizicki (La La Land) and Jojo Villanueva (Sing).
