Los Angeles-based veteran music industry executives Carlo Fox, Benjamin Willis and Joshua Andriano of management firm Indie-Pop have launched a new, invite-only music distribution and media company, Independent.
Launched in 2007, Indie-Pop’s artist management clients include the likes of The Drums, Kshmr, Shoffy, SuperDuperKyle, Nick Waterhouse and madeinTYO.
According to Independent’s founders, the company’s goal is to “service a new generation of artist entrepreneurs”.
Independent also promises to work as an extension of artists and their teams to provide personalized DSP pitching, distribution, financing, data trends, and creative marketing. Independent’s members will retain ownership of their recordings.
Over the past several months, in soft launch, Independent has worked on projects such as alternative hip-hop act Theophilus London’s Bebey, bedroom pop singer, songwriter and producer Shoffy’s Flash, the latest project by Zack Villere, and releases from producer and rapper Ronny J, indie R&B act Oshun, and Malaysian pop soul singer Yuna.
