Pandora has hired Jen Danielson as Head of Country Programming.
Based in Nashville, Danielson (pictured) will oversee programming for country music at Pandora, one of the most popular genres on the streaming service.
According to Pandora, country music draws more than 30 million unique listeners to the service each month.
Considering that the US-only Pandora said that it attracted 68.8 million active users at the end of the third quarter, it’s a fair estimate that country-listening music fans make up a significant portion of Pandora’s current audience.
Jen Danielson comes to Pandora after nearly a decade at CMT, where she most recently served as Director of Music Strategy.
At CMT she oversaw the music video acquisition process for the network, working closely with record labels, publicists and artist managers to create and execute strategic marketing initiatives to enhance artist reach across all of the network’s platforms.
Pandora turned over $1.12bn in the first nine months of 2018, $777.48m of which came from advertising.Music Business Worldwide
