Ace Records – Distribution Manager
Ace Records is one of the leading reissue record companies and we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2025. Our catalogue covers nearly every genre of twentieth century music and we have long terms relationships with thousands of independent labels around the world.
As we enter our sixth decade, we are looking to expand our physical distribution service to a wider client base of like-minded labels. We are now looking for an experienced physical distribution manager to develop this area, working in the first instance with a prestigious UK independent label group who will be our first major ingestion.
The role will work alongside our long-established physical sales team and will involve overseeing UK sales, global D2C and the fulfilment of international sales for all distributed labels.
The new position will be at the forefront of Ace’s renewed push into physical distribution and the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years music sales experience, a proven track record of excelling as part of a close-knit team and a passion for independent music and vinyl.
This full-time position will be based at the Ace Records HQ in Letchworth Garden City (SG6 1JF).
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage relationships with several UK based retail accounts, over email, phone and in person.
- Compile weekly release solicitations for retail, in conjunction with the sales team.
- Highlight key releases to retail to maximise buy in, sales and retail marketing opportunities.
- Work closely with the label management team to manage stock needs and the general needs of their key label clients.
- Present retail marketing opportunities to the label management team and work with your accounts to establish new opportunities and marketing innovations.
- Propose price campaigns, across single titles or entire catalogues, and compile campaign project plans for retail.
- Work with our pick and pack team, to ensure timely delivery of orders to UK retail, international partners and eCommerce customers.
- Provide sales and marketing reporting to label management team and senior management.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely invoicing and collections.
The Ideal Candidate Has
- A proven track record of music release sales within entertainment retail
- Demonstrable relationship building skills with colleagues and clients.
- Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
- A pro-active and creative approach to work to help Ace distributed labels and artists stand out in a crowded marketplace.
- A passion for a wide range of independent music; talking about it, reading about it, and of course listening to it.
