Royalty Analyst (Director)

London

Join BMG’s team as the Director, Royalty Analyst, and play a pivotal role in our royalty and analytical operations. We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead in-depth income analysis, ensuring our clients receive accurate and timely royalty payments, and fostering strong collaborations across departments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Be the main point of contact for any required and detailed analysis relating to client accounting – this could be generated by the client or by internal teams (e.g. A&R, Finance, Royalties).
  • Proactively conduct various levels of income analysis for VIP clients, comparing client income against usage data and analysing trends.
  • Work closely with other departments (Royalties, Finance and LBA) to address client issues and complete audits.
  • Work with Director, Audits to complete specific complex analysis on client accounts (as required).
  • Identify audit targets and initiate deep-dive internal reviews of royalty accountings for specific BMG catalogues.
  • Thoroughly analyse data from various royalty sources to ensure accountings align with contractual provisions.
  • Research and respond to client-related inquiries.
  • Support the Senior Director, Royalties and Audit with any general client and internal queries requiring client royalties analysis.
  • Report to Senior Director, Royalties and Audits and provide regular updates on activity carried out, escalating any issues as appropriate.
  • Identify any necessary improvements to process or workflows and work with Senior Director, Royalties and Audits to implement these.

Your Profile
  • Music publishing or recording experience, ideally in income tracking, audit, royalties or any other analytical role.
  • Highly advanced excel skills.
  • Experience with tracking and collaboration tools (such as Jira).
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to translate detailed analysis into easily digestible commentary.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to prioritise work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
