POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: A&R & Streaming Partnerships Coordinator – GROUP SPEED
Reporting to: GROUP SPEED Manager
Key Internal Liaisons: GYROstream Distribution Team, GROUP SPEED Team & GYROstream Executive and Marketing teams
Key External Liaisons: Independent artists, independent labels, music industry and current GYROstream artists.
Location: Los Angeles (work from home or in a shared co-working space)
Position Summary
We are looking for an exceptional administrator and a confident, enthusiastic and results-driven communicator who thrives on finding good music and has a passion for the independent music sector and building relationships.
You will be an A&R and Streaming Partnerships Coordinator for GROUP SPEED, GYROstream’s new international priority artist marketing and distribution brand. You will support the GROUP SPEED Manager to foster and develop relationships with artists, managers, independent labels and other music industry entities to grow the GROUP SPEED customer base.
From inception to release you will assist with the release process and liaise both internally and externally to ensure client services are being met. You will also promote GROUP SPEED’s additional artist services and act as a representative for the company on-ground in your local market.
You are a self-starter, able to work independently and someone who can develop highly effective systems and work quickly to achieve real and measurable results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the GROUP SPEED Manager to develop and retain strong relationships with independent artists, managers and labels both within and outside the GROUP SPEED family.
- Administration support for GROUP SPEED manager including but not limited to release calendar updates, internal release update checks, timeline proposals, deal pitch proposals and reach out lists.
- Work with the GROUP SPEED Manager to scout and approach new and established musical talent: managers/ artists / producers / beatmakers and other music businesses with the intention of bringing them into the GROUP SPEED family
- Assist on and coordinate releases and strategy for referral clients from DistroDirect and GYROstream partners.
- Coordinate with artist management and GYROstream distribution teams to ensure delivery of distribution and services value proposition
- Assist the GROUP SPEED Manager in being the point person for the company’s existing top tier artists and their teams to ensure artist retention and assist with career growth strategies.
- Provide cover for the GROUP SPEED Manager when they are on annual leave
- Identify potential artist candidates for GYROstream’s other product offerings including but not limited to royalty advances, Soothe Sounds and GYROstream distribution + any other emerging programs and work with GYRO management team on negotiations and roll out for each offering
- Work with the GROUP SPEED Manager to support pitching priority artists to DSPs globally. Be backup person with label relations and promotional DSP contacts and maintain strong relationships.
- Represent GROUP SPEED in meetings, at shows, and on calls with artist management and bands/brands
- Promote GROUP SPEED’s full suite of artist promotional services to relevant clients
- Provide exceptional customer service to the full range of GROUP SPEED artists and clients. This will also involve liaison with key external stakeholders (eg. AudioSalad / DSP operations teams).
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to be both creative and data-driven to achieve outcomes
- Ability to follow instructions and complete administrative tasks to a high standard
- Proven ability to source and cultivate relationships with third parties
- Strong experience and understanding of the global music industry and digital landscape
- Excellent knowledge of the digital space, including music retail, analytics and social media, with an ability to adapt to a constantly changing landscape.
- Highly advanced organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to tight deadlines
- Great communication skills both written and verbal
- In-depth knowledge of content marketing, consumption habits, fan communication methods, and social trends
- Passionate about Independent music, with a willingness to attend industry events and shows
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required and able to travel
- Proven experience in the music industry in a management, production, or curation capacity and has an established network within the music industry.
The role is based in Los Angeles with a global remit.
