Helix Records, established in April 2022, is a multi-territory independent home for the world’s best new dance music. Founded and run by Patrick Moxey, creator of Ultra Music, Ultra Publishing and Payday Records, Moxey is by all accounts a visionary pioneer who has pushed past barriers to bring dance music into the mainstream heart of America, where it squarely sits in 2024.

The label has already signed several high-profile new artists including renowned electronic duo Snakehips, drum and bass legend Netsky, Dance icon Jamie Jones, Dutch artist San Holo, Grammy nominated Ten City, legendary house DJ/producer Marshall Jefferson, Italo Disco star Disco Bambino and many more to come.

We are looking for energetic self-starters and independent thinkers who are strong in time management and juggling responsibilities. A solid understanding of the music business, recording process, love of music & club culture and knowledge of the current landscape of the music industry is a must.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate A&R Manager or Senior A&R Manager specializing in dance music to join our team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of the electronic and dance music scenes, an exceptional ear for talent, and a strong industry network.

This role involves scouting emerging artists, curating a portfolio of high-potential talent, and driving creative direction to help shape the future of our label’s dance music roster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Discovery: Scout and identify promising dance music artists and producers who align with our label’s vision and aesthetic. Stay updated with current music trends, emerging genres, and underground scenes.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, agents, and other industry professionals to expand the label’s network and discover new talent.
  • Project Management: Oversee the entire A&R process for assigned artists, from discovery and signing to production, release strategy, and promotional campaigns.
  • Creative Development: Collaborate with artists on song selection, production, and overall creative direction to ensure projects meet artistic and commercial goals.
  • Market Insight: Conduct regular research and analysis on market trends in electronic and dance music to inform decisions and stay competitive within the industry.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, PR, and digital teams to develop innovative strategies for artist growth and track success.
  • Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts with artists, producers, and other key stakeholders, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the label’s goals.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage budgets related to talent acquisition, recording, and promotion to maximize impact and ensure fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of A&R experience in the music industry, with a specific focus on dance or electronic music. Prior experience at a record label or music management company is preferred.
  • Network: Established connections within the dance music scene, including relationships with artists, producers, managers, promoters, and agents.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electronic and dance music genres, trends, and culture. A pulse on emerging talent and trends in the scene.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Creative Vision: A keen ear for talent, with the ability to spot unique sounds and potential for commercial success.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills and a data-informed mindset to make strategic talent and release decisions.
