Role Overview

As Vice President of Synch Licensing, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to drive the international exploitation and monetization of our extensive catalog through synchronization licensing & facilitation.

Based in our London office, you will be responsible for our efforts to cultivate partnerships, convert synch interest and spearhead innovative initiatives to maximize revenue streams. This role demands a forward-thinking professional with a deep understanding of the synch licensing landscape and an innovative approach to the ever-evolving digital media environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Synch Licensing Management:

  • Working and managing administration partners, working with and managing those partners with the aim of maximizing synch revenues and strategically increasing the conversion rate of synch interest via them is central to this position.
  • This includes evaluating synch requests, negotiating those requests with synch clients and publishing administrators based on a data-driven analysis of significant opportunities.
  • Prepare requests for final synch approval decisions with quick turnaround times.

2. Partnership Development:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key publishing administrators and other stakeholders, including co-publishers, labels and film, television, advertising, gaming, and digital media partners.
  • Negotiate and secure high-value synch deals that enhance the commercial success of our catalog.

3. Synch Licensing Development:

  • Explore emerging segments of the synch market and ways to address them to expand our global revenue base.

4. Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure efficient and effective management of the synch licensing process, including deal negotiation, contract administration, and rights management.
  • Implement best practices and streamlined workflows to optimize operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and rights management, to ensure seamless execution of synch deals.
  • Offer innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of the market.

Qualifications and experience
  • Ideally, 6 years of proven experience in a senior synch licensing role within the music or entertainment industries, preferably on both rights ownership side and the synch client/licensee side.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing high-profile synch deals and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and relationships with key decision-makers in film, television, advertising, gaming, and digital media, in the UK, the US and other key synch markets.
  • Deep understanding of the synch licensing landscape, including emerging trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and a second language.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking mindset and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
