Working across all genres of music, our goal is to maximise Neighbouring Rights income for our clients through our direct relationships with collection societies, detailed data through our bespoke online portal, and rapid accounting.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Disputes Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in neighbouring rights management, publishing, distribution, intellectual property, or music licensing, who is looking to grow within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a key part of our disputes team, you will be responsible for managing and resolving conflicts, overlaps, and disputes related to neighbouring rights, ensuring smooth and accurate revenue collection and distribution for our clients.

You will work closely with various internal teams (disputes, accounts, repertoire) as well as external stakeholders (collecting societies, rightsholders, agencies, and industry partners) to address issues that may arise regarding neighbouring rights collections.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of copyright and recording metadata and will be able to manage complex disputes with professionalism and a strategic mindset.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
  • Conflict Resolution & Dispute Management: Identify, analyse, and resolve conflicts or disputes regarding neighbouring rights collections.
  • Dispute Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of conflicting claims, ensuring accurate collection of neighbouring rights royalties across all relevant parties. Review and interpret contracts and relevant agreements to ensure proper rights collection and avoid duplicate claims.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external rights holders, collecting societies, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes. Maintain effective relationships to foster cooperation and transparency in the resolution process.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of disputes, resolutions, and any ongoing claims. Prepare reports and summaries for senior management as needed.
  • Collaboration & Team Support: Work closely with the repertoire, disputes, onboarding, and accounts teams to ensure cohesive and consistent application of neighbouring rights principles across the organisation.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in the music industry
    • 2–5 years of experience in neighbouring rights management, publishing, music licensing, distribution or a related field. Previous experience with rights conflicts and dispute resolution is highly desirable.
  • Education:
    • A degree in Music Business, Intellectual Property, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of the music industry, particularly neighbouring rights. Familiarity with key organisations and collecting societies (e.g., PPL, SoundExchange, GVL, etc.) is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse rightsholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with rights management software or databases is an advantage.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • A proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Calm under pressure, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
    • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working with international neighbouring rights systems and regulations.
  • Familiarity with digital music platforms, online licensing, and global distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
