This role will sit within [PIAS] Label Group, the Record Company Division. The labels under PLG are Play It Again Sam, Different, [PIAS] Électronique and harmonia mundi, as well as a roster of affiliated independent labels: Astral People, ATO Records, Crammed Discs, Blue Flowers, Don’t Sleep, Heavenly Recordings, Lower Third, Mute, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Point of Departure, Spinefarm and Transgressive.
What we’re looking for
[PIAS] is seeking a Content Creation Manager in the Audience Development & Partnerships team for its [PIAS] Label Group (PLG) division specifically our Recordings team. The successful candidate will be the primary in-house resource for audio-visual content capture for the Label Group’s artists, working closely with the Audience Development team as well as Marketing and other Label Group departments.
What you’ll be doing
- Filming, shooting, editing and publishing content for the [PIAS] Label Group’s artists for publication on their social media channels, including but not limited to short-form vertical video (for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts etc), longer-form video for channels like YouTube, and stills photography
- Work closely with artists, managers, Audience Development Managers and Marketing to conceive and develop social content pillars and strategies designed to drive audience growth and ongoing engagement
- Set up shoot days and accompany artists to a range of activities for content capture including promo engagements, live concerts, recording studios
- Generate graphic design elements of content, utilising both in-app features as well as third-party platforms and software
- Work across a range of audio-visual equipment ranging from iPhone to professional-grade camera equipment, microphones, etc
- Play a collaborative role in the management and strategy of all artist channels
- Formulate content output for devised strategies across platforms using insights, best practices and tapping into content trends
- Generate social content for the [PIAS] in-house label brands
- Be adaptable to different genres, aesthetics and audiences, and able to apply differing content strategies in line with the artists vision
- Manage content creation budgets
- Edit raw existing content (e.g. from artist’s own camera roll) into formats suitable for publication
- Repurpose campaign assets such as music videos into formats such as cutdowns for social media channels, GIFs, banners for mailouts, etc.
- Deliver high volumes of content on deadline across multiple simultaneous active campaigns
What we expect
- In-depth understanding of the short-form video content ecosystem and the wider digital & social content space
- Passion for music and contemporary culture, and how the two fuse in the social space
- Literate in a wide range of trends, subcultures, slang terminology, memes and community identifiers
- Experience of working directly with artists, translating their vision and generating high volumes of creative content on brief
- Proficient in video, photo, and graphic design software i.e. Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Self starter able to work to deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
