Our brands Shogun Audio, Elevate Records, Temple Publishing and EST Studios are world leaders in their respective fields and we’re looking for a full-time A&R & Sync Assistant to join our growing team.

With names including Friction, DJ Marky, Pola & Bryson, Fatboy Slim, Moby, Skream, Alix Perez, Noisia, Dimension, Sigma, Roni Size, Calibre, Monrroe, Macky Gee and many more littering the current and back catalogue Shogun Audio is today a multi-faceted organisation with functions including digital and physical record distribution, events management, merchandise and apparel, e-commerce, sales & marketing, broadcasting and music publishing.

The A&R & Sync Assistant will work with the wider team and have responsibility for supporting the Head Of Music with company-wide A&R activities, execution of ‘special projects’ such as writer camps and artist sessions, events and artist creative projects as well as management of the company sync activities.


THE ROLE
  • Assisting the A&R process, liaising with the artist roster on music creation and offering support as needed/directed by the senior A&R team.
  • Organising writing sessions and executing writing camps, facilitating collaborations between artists at the direction of the senior A&R team.
  • Attend regular meetings with artists and artist management to discuss and develop their creative projects.
  • Upkeep of company music catalogue and coordinating all asset deliverables (inc. master recordings, stems and instrumentals) to appropriate departments on time for delivery.
  • Execute monthly internal radio pitching across all company releases to key targets.
  • Attend company events, industry events and events where unsigned artists will be performing at the direction of the senior A&R team.
  • Curating the Shogun Audio Ltd. music library using the Disco music library management system, ingesting and indexing all new music as it’s created.
  • Responding to sync briefs with appropriate music at the direction of the senior label team.
  • Sharing music with sync licensing contacts.
  • Co-ordinating with legal and accounting departments to generate licenses, negotiate contracts and raise invoices.
  • Attend sync networking events and visit sync contacts at the request of the senior leadership team.

ABOUT YOU
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a label, distributor or publisher ideally in an A&R or Sync role.
  • Degree in Marketing or Business Studies or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Undisputable experience in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of Shogun Audio brands and Drum & Bass / electronic music generally.
  • Excellent at managing time – having the ability to manage time effectively in line with company priorities.
  • Possess the genuine desire and ability to partner and collaborate closely with internal and external teams.
  • Be proactive, enthusiastic, and passionate about staying at the very top of the ever-changing world of D&B.
  • Team Player – Has a ‘Can Do’ attitude and is willing to be flexible to support the company.
  • Able to work in the Brighton office at least 2 days a week
  • Availability to travel and attend events required
  • Ability to work remotely required
  • Ability to drive preferential but not essential
