The A Side: A Day in The Life
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to lead on outbound marketing activities across Universal Production Music UK.
This person will work closely with the Global Marketing Team and the VP, UK and will have responsibility for UK focused B2B content (written articles and creative briefs for video and design), email marketing, social media strategies and execution.
It’s key that the person in this role is an ideas person, has the capability to think creatively and is a strong communicator with the ability to work closely with the internal teams at UPM UK and understand the needs of the UK market to develop brilliant, unique, creative marketing campaigns that make UPM stand out from the competition while ensure the highest standard of digital marketing is achieved.
The person in this role needs to be passionate about the world of both music for film and TV and digital marketing, and has experience running creative campaigns that drive results. They should have experience working with CRM tools, such as Marketing Cloud and be able to demonstrate proven results in achieving growth / ROI from digital marketing sources.
The main aim of this role will be to elevate the global digital footprint while using valuable data provided by the Business Analyst to measure and improve the impact of UPM’s UK content on digital platforms with the aim of raising brand awareness while driving new business leads and revenue.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organized
- Monitor current campaigns, ensuring team meets deadlines and complete necessary tasks.
- Manage and monitor the partnerships and marketing budget with assistance from the Marketing Manager.
- Oversee Copywriting for social media, websites and occasionally press releases.
- Manage the UK B2B social media platforms – LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube – with support from the
- Marketing Manager.
Be Strategic:
- Lead and oversee the creation and implementation of email marketing campaigns from conception through execution, including planning, copywriting, segmentation, testing, and launching with the support of the Marketing Manager.
- Manage campaign strategy, development and execution for external UK partner marketing including BBC, Banijay and Warner Bros.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure unity and cohesion of marketing activities.
Be Creative:
- Work with the Marketing Manager to oversee and brief videographer to create high-impact assets for digital channels.
Be Collaborative:
- Campaign strategy, development and management: Work with the Head of Global Marketing, Head of Partnerships and VP, UK + Marketing Manager to create, implement and oversee the UK content and digital strategy to align lifecycle marketing with business goals.
- Oversee the communication and coordinating with internal stakeholders regarding marketing campaigns to ensure successful and optimal execution.
- Support and help roll out the company Rebrand for the UK market in 2025.
- Update VP, UK on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of campaigns.
- Assist the partnerships and development team with event ideas and organisation.
Be Innovative:
- Oversee the tracking and analysing of data to evaluate the success of marketing efforts and come up with new innovative growth strategies to improve brand marketing and exposure.
- Stay on top of the latest trends, news in our industry and beyond and incorporate into our marketing plans.
Person Specification
- Proven track record in a B2B marketing role, ideally in the music, entertainment, production, advertising or marketing industries.
- Proven experience in email marketing, CRM management, or lifecycle marketing, ideally in B2B or SaaS environments.
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills, with an ability to tailor content to different audience segments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle complex workflows and multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Expertise in segmentation, automation, and campaign management tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across departments to drive joint initiatives.
- Social media experience – running B2B social media accounts, coming up with content ideas, running a content calendar.
- Professional marketing qualification, such as degree or CIM.
- Desired knowledge of Marketing Cloud, GA4, social media and SEO.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Finger on the pulse of social media and influencer trends.
- Creative mindset with the ability to brief creatives thoroughly.
- Organisational skills are key.
- Ability to drive campaigns forward.
- Results driven.
- Confident in presenting to both small and large groups.
- Passion for and experience of running events
- Knowledge of creating content for design and video
