Former EMI, BMG and Polygram exec Kevin Brown has joined Spotify in the newly-created role of head of label relations (Europe).
Brown, who will be based in London, will report into Steve Savoca, Spotify’s head of content, based in New York.
He will manage the UK, Central European and Nordic Label Relations teams, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining senior relationships with key major and indie label partners across the continent.
Brown has worked in marketing, sales and business development working across companies including EMI, 3D Artist Management, BMG, 4AD and Polygram. Most recently he ran his own global marketing consultancy, 360 Music Marketing.
As head of international at 3D Artist Management he worked with artists including Coldplay, My Chemical Romance and Scissor Sisters, and prior to this was Vice President of International at EMI Music UK for eight years.
Brown has worked with artists including Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bat for Lashes, Coldplay, Dead Can Dance, Doves, The Drums, Gorillaz, Whitney Houston, Interpol, Kylie Minogue, My Chemical Romance, Beth Orton, Pixies, Puff Daddy, Radiohead, Emeli Sande, Scissor Sisters, Sigur Ros, TLC and Robbie Williams.
