YouTube Music has named Mahalia as its third Artist On The Rise in the UK.
This follows Mahalia first being part of YouTube‘s Foundry Programme to support emerging artists, then being named at the top of YouTube Music UK’s 2019 One to Watch list at the end of last year, after which she was tipped for the BRIT’s Critics Choice Award and the BBC Sound Poll shortlists.
Mahalia’s debut album is due on September 6.
In the last year, Mahalia has amassed more than 28 million views on YouTube globally.
The US, UK, France, Brazil, and South Africa are the countries that have engaged with Mahalia’s content the most over the past year according to YouTube.
Mahalia recently shared the video for her new single Simmer, feat. fellow US Artist on the Rise, Burna Boy and will host a fan event at YouTube Space London on September 5.
