UK-based management company ie:music, which represents the likes of Robbie Williams and composer Craig Armstrong, has launched ie: entertainment.
ie: entertainment is described as a multi-genre production and talent management company which will be “dedicated to creation, production and distribution of scripted and unscripted content across TV, film and digital formats”.
ie:entertainment is helmed by executives Lucy Pullin, Co-Founder & Creative Director, and Tim Clark, Co-founder & Chair, with Nina Parnaby as COO.
The company’s launch in March 2022 followed ie:music’s recent collaboration with director Tara Films on the Shuhada Sadaqat, also known as artist Sinead O’Connor, documentary Nothing Compares.
The documentary premiered at Sundance 2022 before being acquired by Showtime for a theatrical and broadcast release in Autumn 2022.
ie: entertainment is the latest arm of the expanding company.
Elsewhere, in 2020, ie:music launched its own investment arm ie:ventures.
The company’s first investment was in music making app Endlesss.FM, which closed a ‘major’ funding round in 2019.
The company took investment from a number of high-profile executives, including Mathew Daniel (VP International, NetEase Cloud Music), Dhiraj Mukherjee (co-founder, Shazam), Richard Jones (manager, Pixies) and others.
“We are in a seemingly golden age for filmed entertainment.”
Lucy Pullin
Lucy Pullin, said: “We are in a seemingly golden age for filmed entertainment and there has never been a better time to create, own and invest in UK creative content for a global audience.
“We began developing a slate of scripted and non-scripted content, podcasts, theatre shows and a blossoming talent roster in 2021.
“Our slate now lays claim to some of the most exciting productions commissioned and in development.
“The heart of the slate largely deals with music in some way or form but we are not limited in that respect.”
“The development slate at the heart of the new company is exceptional.”
Tim Clark
Tim Clark, added: “It is with much excitement and confidence that I’m expanding the ‘ie:’ brand of companies with the launch of ie: entertainment with Lucy Pullin at the helm.
“David Enthoven & I always ‘banged on’ over the years about capturing every moment possible with the roster of artists we represented and for them to own their own IP where possible.
“We’re continuing that mission with ie: entertainment committed to crafting content that resonates and creating films that matter.
“The development slate at the heart of the new company is exceptional and I’m thrilled that the Sinead O’Connor documentary Nothing Compares is enjoying the acclaim both it and the incredible artist at the centre of it so very much deserve”Music Business Worldwide
