Sony Music Publishing has renewed its exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Italian band Maneskin.
The deal renews the company’s partnership with the band, which began in 2017, and covers future works and catalog.
The rock group Maneskin consists of Victoria De Angelis, Ethan Torchio, Thomas Raggi, and Damiano David, and this year won the annual Eurovision Song Contest.
Since winning the contest in May, the band has garnered 3 billion total streams, with over 977 million streams on their first album Chosen, 450m streams from the single Il Ballo della Vita and over 1bn streams on their latest album Teatro D’Ira – Vol. I, says Sony.
In mid-July, the band were officially the most-listened to artist in the world on Spotify, beating Olivia Rodrigo’s seven week streak at No.1.
A month earlier, MBW reported that the band split with their manager of four years, Marta Donà.
The group also won Best Rock Act at the 2021 MTV EMAs, and were nominated for Favorite Trending Song at the 2021 AMAs.
Recently, Maneskin made their American television debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and played their debut concerts in the US, including an opening performance for the Rolling Stones in Las Vegas.
Maneskin are currently working on new music, and on October 8 will release the single MAMMAMIA. The group have also announced a new set of UK and European tour dates for 2022.
