“After eight years with Universal Music it was time to let my entrepreneurial flag fly.
“Independent consultants are fast becoming the new normal in this business, especially as artists increasingly turn to label services models and self releasing.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter at blackstar!”

Discussing her new venture, Hobbs said: “After eight years with Universal Music it was time to let my entrepreneurial flag fly.
“I had such a great time with Polydor and Fiction Records, and through them, have been privileged enough to have worked with some of my favourite artists and lifelong heroes.
“At Blackstar, I’ll be pulling together my network of freelance expertise from all areas of the business in order to build reliable teams that get the job done and share knowledge.
“Independent consultants are fast becoming the new normal in this business, especially as artists increasingly turn to label services models and self releasing. I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter!”
Hobbs started her career in the music business at promoter LHG Live, before taking on production and live booking roles at Music Sales Group and Glasswerk.
