A new entertainment technology company called Intercept Music has launched a digital distribution platform today (April 12) in partnership with legendary rapper, and Wu Tang Clan founding member, Method Man.
Founded by veteran music and tech industry veterans, Intercept says that its team has helped artists earn “over 100 Grammys and hundreds of notable industry awards”.
Intercept Music is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanwire Corporation, a company focused on advanced technologies for the entertainment industry.
The company says that will be focusing exclusively on the independent music market.
Intercept Music says that its platform gives independent artists and their labels access to hundreds of digital stores and major streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, and YouTube Music.
In addition, the company claims that, via its “powerful, proprietary social media marketing and promotional software”, it can create an “effective communication channel for promoting music, merch, and performances”.
The company also offers fully managed advertising and promotional services, and lets artists sell merchandise through branded online stores.
The firm says that it’s platform will provide independent artists with monthly revenue payments and real-time access to royalty earnings “with no hidden fees”.
Intercept Music already has partnerships in place with Ingrooves Music Group, What’s In-Store Music, Rocket Songs, Amplified Distribution, Nifter, MusiCares, Nerve – the Banking App for Music Creators, A2IM – American Association of Independent Music, and others.
In a statement announcing the launch: Intercept Music claims that it “unshackles monetization opportunities with leading digital music aggregators and empowers through effective analytics”.
Adds the company: “From the boombox to your Beats, Intercept provides a superior suite of products designed to arm, issue, and accelerate creative advancement so independents can keep 100% of their rights and masters.”
