Music Business Worldwide has a new Deputy Editor – London-based Murray Stassen.
Stassen is a former Deputy Editor of UK trade paper Music Week, where he spent two years between 2014 and 2016. He has also written for the likes of VICE Media, The Line Of Best Fit and Long Live Vinyl.
Most recently, Stassen has been Editor of global professional sound magazine, Audio Media International.
MBW Publisher Tim Ingham said: “Murray is a smart, creative, diligent journalist with a huge passion for the music business, and a deep understanding of its complexities. He is also an excellent writer and a first-rate judge of character – both equally rare and valuable attributes.
“As MBW continues to expand operations into 2019, Murray is the perfect candidate to take the publication forward as Deputy Editor.”
Stassen joins a core editorial team at MBW which includes Ingham, Associate Publisher Dave Roberts and Contributing Editor Rhian Jones, plus a network of exceptional freelance contributors.
Stassen said: “MBW is the most respected and engaging music business publication in the world and it’s an honour to be hired as its Deputy Editor.
“I look forward to working with Tim, Dave and Rhian and making important contributions to an indispensable resource for the global music industry.”
Stassen starts in his new role on October 1.
He will work across the main MBW site and newsletter, in addition to quarterly print title Music Business UK and other soon-to-be-announced projects.Music Business Worldwide
