Sony Music Publishing UK has promoted Naomi Asher to Vice President, Songwriter Services and Neighbouring Rights.
According to a media release, in her elevated role, Asher will serve as the “go-to contact “for SMP UK’s catalog songwriters and clients and will be responsible for expanding opportunities and driving success for their songs both locally and internationally.
Asher will also continue to oversee the UK company’s Neighbouring Rights division.
The exec will remain based in the company’s London office, reporting to SMP UK Co-Managing Directors David Ventura and Tim Major.
Since joining SMP in 2020, the company says that Asher has been instrumental in advancing its Neighbouring Rights initiatives and supporting talent across its roster.
Prior to her time at the company, she was Director and President of Wixen Music UK Ltd., where she focused on Neighbouring Rights.
As the co-founder of the Independent Alliance for Artist Rights (IAFAR), Asher is also an advocate for standardization and increased transparency across Neighbouring Rights.
Elsewhere at Sony Music Publishing UK, Shauni Caballero was recently appointed as Senior A&R Manager.
